How corrections are handled
- Small spelling or formatting fixes may be corrected without a formal note.
- Material factual corrections are logged publicly.
- New evidence that changes an assessment is explained.
- Earlier wording is not silently rewritten to hide a meaningful error.
Questions without a required name
The question form does not ask for a name. An email address is optional and should be provided only when a private reply is requested. Identifying details are removed before a submitted question becomes a public issue page.
Information Civic Lantern does not request
- Legal name
- Account creation
- Phone number
- Home address
- Precise location
- Unnecessary demographic information
Technical and delivery information
Cloudflare processes ordinary technical request data, such as an IP address, to deliver and protect the website. Civic Lantern does not intentionally add that technical data to a question submission. Submitted questions are delivered by email and may remain in the project inbox while they are reviewed.
Content that will not be published
- Threats or instructions to harm someone
- Targeted harassment or personal attacks
- Private allegations presented as fact
- Unnecessary identifying information
